What to Look for in an Events and Party Planner

Hiring a planner for your event can be a daunting task. You want to be sure you’re selecting someone who can make your event picture perfect. Be patient and diligent in your selection process and you find someone with whom you can communicate and who understands your needs.
First things first – have an idea of what you want from your event…the feel, the look, how many guests you’d like to invite, and your budget. The events planner you hire should be able to visualize your event and give you a good idea of where to begin. Remember: you are hiring someone to organize your ideas and make them materialize into your “perfect” event.
Consider the level of involvement you’d like your planner to have. If you don’t ask, you don’t get. Most professional planners are able to customize a service package to fit your needs and your budget. Whether you’ve already planned your entire event and just need someone the day of your event to ensure it runs smoothly, or you don’t have a clue where to begin, you can find a planner willing to work with you for a reasonable price. After all, do you really want to be worried about whether or not your buffet needs to be refilled or if the DJ cuts out on the music at the right time? There are many out there with more flexible options that provide even those the smallest budget to hire a professional to make their celebration memorable.
Finally, make sure you get a good “vibe” from your planner. You should both be on the same page, or easily able to get there! You will be working closely with your planner every step of the way, and you need to be comfortable conveying what you want (or don’t) and knowing that they’ll “catch the drift” of what you’re asking for.
Your event is just that: yours. With the right planner, you can be sure that it will be cohesive and reflect your personality and your ideas.
